Despite my borderline-illness of always leaving the Strand Bookstore with two books in hand to buy, I do like to loiter about when I get a chance.... once a week, usually. And yesterday, at the table of cookbooks, proudly displaying Padma's new tome of recipes, a placard happily announced the Padma Lakshmi Event on Monday, November 19th. Padma Lakshmi Event?! She's coming to New York to hawk her cookbook. I'm still curious how involved she was in the actual generation of these recipes. Maybe she'll actually demonstrate to us what exactly is so Tangy, Tart, Hot & Sweet. In which case I'll be in the front row.

I love the smell and creaking of The Strand and now you've made me want to go again. Who the hell is Padma Lakshmi? I don't think she's on our Canadian Food Network, it's all maple syrup and moose recipes.

I just saw an episode of Top Chef so I know she's a bit addle brained and has a large scar on her arm.
Padma is a Great Host on Top Chef. And has 2 great Cookbooks.I have met her at a booksigning, she is fantastic. And she will be a Superstar, as she is a Supermodel. Hot in both areas...Beauty and Brains.If people would give her credit for what shes done in her life. And her future will be great too. Padma is #1 in my book.
